The 7th edition of the International Book and Music Fair gathered numerous people from Romania and abroad. It was a real success according to the organizers and visitors` opinion. Editors, booksellers and representatives of music production houses have already planned to meet next year at the 8th edition of the fair. They all said that every time they came to such an event in Brasov their business went smoothly. Releases were never ending and there was a record number of 16 successive folklore albums released.
?Fireplace Songs?
One of the participants highly appreciated by the audience was Nicu Alifantis who released his album ?Fireplace Songs?. It consists of 18 songs composed from poetry written by famous authors, such as Tudor Arghezi, Ana Blandiana or Adrian Păunescu. For the title of the album the composer got his inspiration from a discussion he had with one of his friends, who said that when he listened to his music he imagined himself standing in front of a fireplace and relaxing. ?I loved this idea and I put it into application in this new album which I am very fond of?, said the musician.
?The Book of Whispers?
Varujan Vosganian surprised his audience with his qualities of writer through his novel ?The Book of Whispers?, an account about the life of the Armenians.
This is not my book, but of the entire Armenian community. In fact, ?The Book of Whispers? is a book about all the nations who lived under a dictatorship. The main hero of the book is the 20th century with all its discoveries, common failures, the stateless, the ideologies and vain self search. I dared to write a book about people who suffered when I was a child?, said Varujan Vosganian.
Event agenda
The agenda of the fair included events dedicated to Brasov town: book releases: ?Scheiul? by Academician Alexandru Surdu; ?The Juni Holiday on Easter Day, a Special Custom of the Romanians from Schei? by G.
