Predeal, the perfect resort to spend a vacation in clean, unpolluted ozone air and a peaceful environment offers, at the same time, the possibility to practice some active rest activities, such as skiing and extreme sports. Brief presentation
Predeal is the highest altitude town located in Brasov County, Romania. It is part of the resort chain from Prahova Valley, near the pass with the same name from the Meridional Carpathians, at an altitude of 1,060 m, along the most important pass which links the regions Muntenia and Transylvania. The national highway DN1 and a two-way electrified railway go through Predeal. The town is delimitated by five mountains: Postavaru, Piatra Mare, Bucegu, Baiului and Fetifoi. There are few countries in the world that have such richness, in such a perfect harmony.
Winter in Predeal
During wintertime, Predeal offers a wide range of opportunities for spending time and thus tourists get to be healthier by movement. They can follow mountain itineraries or go skiing on the ski slopes specially arranged for amateur and professional skiers, as well as for snowboarders.
?Important funds have been allotted for increasing the skiing area and ensuring the necessary conditions for the 2013 Youth Olympiad to come. The mountain resorts Sinaia, Busteni, Azuga, Predeal, Rasnov and Brasov will be the hosts of this event. This shall be the biggest event ever organised by our country. In 2013 we will enjoy seeing ski, hockey, figure skating, speed skating, ski jumping, snowboard, cross-country skiing and biathlon, at the highest level of performance?, said Mr. Ionel Goidescu, Mayor of Predeal.

The tourists who come in Predeal may enjoy cable transportation (chairlift and ski-tow) services. The children may attend ski schools, assisted by trained staff. The adults may rent ski equipments, snowmobiles and ATV?s and may visit the biathlon centre in Predeal.
