Since February 2009, The Prefect Institution of Brasov is led by a new team. By a Government decision, Ion Gontea was appointed Prefect and Roxana Manzatu one of the two subprefects. The other one - Emil Nita – has had for five month the rank of Prefect. The two nominees took the oath in front of local and central authorities.
Large Projects
The new prefect committed himself in front of the senior civil servants that he would improve the Prefecture’s activity, serve the citizens and ensure laws are respected. „Our goal is to achieve large projects, able to satisfy the needs of a large number of the county’s citizens. We will also focus on infrastructure development, in attracting foreign investors and the sustainable development of the county. Moreover, we will work to return properties confiscated by the communist regime” the prefect stated.
2009, a vital Year
Before being appointed as viceprefect of Brasov, Roxana Manzatu made post-graduate studies in administration. Her expertise is a gain in her new job. Roxana Manzatu will focus on projects in rural areas made in 2008 and those that have accomplished the feasibility studies’ phase. According to the new subprefect, „2009 is a vital year to access European funds and build a relationship between the beneficiaries and the county council, as co-financer”.
