Codlea?s Days





     



Codlea town is located at the north-western side of Tara Barsei depression, at the foot of Magura Hill, on the plane of Vulcanita creek. The local German natives emigrated from Codlea have made famous the commune? feast under the name of ?Kronenfest?. The local authorities transformed it into ?Codlea?s Days?, an event gathering the inhabitants under Magura Hill. The specific of the feast is the snail?s dance, a peculiar round imitating the snail form on a special outdoor location, where all the local ethnic communities party together.

The end of July Feast
The Local Council Codlea, the Centre for Conserving and Promoting the Traditional Culture Brasov, the Communitarian Centre Codlea, the German Forum and Codlea townhall organised at the end of July ?Codlea?s Days ? Kronenfest 2007?. The artistic program gathered hundreds of inhabitants at this feast dedicated to the flowers, the abundant vegetation and the hope in the fertility of the land. The party was lit by fireworks and an impressive camp-fire.

Popular Clothes Parade
The folkloric day was reserved to the popular clothes parade on the streets of Codlea towards Magura Hill?s foot. On the stage set up for the occasion performed various folkloric bands such as The German band, Codlea?s Brass Band, Codlea?s Riders Juni, ?Magura?-Codlea, ?Chastain Flower? Halchiu, ?Edelweiss? Zarnesti, ?Romana? Rasnov, Peasant chorus ?Cohalmul? Rupea. The performance also included the snail?s dance and the mast climbing.
