The second edition of Brasov?s Medieval Feasts, organized by the Brasov?s county council, gathered a numerous local and foreign audience at ??Ion Tiriac? Sport Highschool Arena. The most attractive moments were offered by the Crown Guardsmen. The Knights challenged the public to fight on logs, archery and sword fights contest, shields handling and cherry cutting with the ox. Medieval plays, tournaments and chivalrous contests took place at the arena, by the efforts of actors, elite stunts and ten well-prepared horses.
Medieval Weapons
Once set the arena, the fighters started amazing demonstrations of medieval weapons handling ? archery, javelin throwing, sword and hammer fights. Spectators were impressed by the workshops and the practical demonstrations presented during a few days. One of the most spectacular moments was the simulation of the mobilisation of the Hungarian medieval army. The Csabafiak Knights, riding horses specially trained to fight the fire, showed how to launch fight signals using 12 m long torches. The Crown Knights challenged the audience to participate at the contest ?The strongest man of the stronghold?.
Music and Fire
The medieval performances do not ended with the military exhibitions. The show also included musical moments offered by two very beloved folk music singers and the recreation of the dance?s history by an Irish dance band. The feast?s climax was reached with the fire animated shows and the flamboyant fire works in the end.
