Romanian Consulate in Liaoning
The discussions established that the authorities of Liaoning will intercede with the Chinese Government to support Brasov in opening a consulate in Liaoning. Prefect Adriana Dontu promised to sustain the cultural and educational changes proposed by the Chinese delegation, among which the establishment in Brasov of a traditional medicine institute. The prefect will also inform the Chinese partners about the business opportunities of the county.
Brasov, a dynamic town
Nicolae Tucunel, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Brasov, referred to the twinning contract between Lianoning province and Brasov County, signed in 1993, as the first of its kind involving our county. "Liaoning, a region of 62 million inhabitants, showed a great opening towards Romania. On the other hand, Brasov a dynamic town, ratted forth in Romania after Bucharest, Constanta and Timisoara. In the spring of 2008, we will send in China an economic mission including local businessmen of various fields".
Constructive Dialogue
Romania was the third country visited by the Chinese delegation, during its mission in Europe. As vice- president Xu De emphasized, the meeting with the authorities of Brasov was a constructive dialogue, showing the interest of both sides. "The Chinese government will make a decision in the Romanian consulate issue. We also invite the Brasov county staff in China; meanwhile, we will get all the information they need about the facilities of the business environment".
