The Primate?s Bless
Dumbravita recently celebrated 500 yeas since its first mention in the historical documents. The town hall marked the event by a three days party, also attended by the Primate of Ardeal, His Grace Laurentiu Streza, specially came at Dumbravita to bless the inhabitants.
The Charter?s Discover
The mayor Zachiu Popa made a serious documentation work for this event. ?In 2004, while I was looking for some heraldic models in the State Archives to choose an emblem for the locality, I discovered the only document attesting the existence of Dumbravita. This is how I came across a charter from 1507, were the actual locality was mentioned as ?Tantari?, the name Dumbravita used to have until 1964. The finding inspired me the idea of a great feast for the entire community?.
The Faith and Folklore?s Day
The celebration, called ?The Faith and Folklore?s Day?, was opened by the religious service officiated at the ?St. Nicholas and the Devote Parascheva? local church. His Grace Laurentiu Streza himself, along with 11 priests and 2 deacons, officiated the mess. The parishioners jostle to touch the garment of The Devote Parascheva, specially brought by the Primate for the feast. After the mess, the inhabitants attended the folkloric program prepared by the authorities.
