Predeal, the Tourists' Paradise

The city of Predeal is located at the highest altitude in our country: 1040-1110 m. It is the perfect resort for resting, trekking and winter sports. The surroundings are beautiful, the weathe is soft and there is hardly any pollution. It is considered the resort with the best sun exposure in Valea Prahovei. There are lots of attractions: sport contests (tennis, ski) and trekking tours.
Unique Surroundings
The resort-city of Predeal is situated between two mountain rivers and has a large perspective over its surroundings: Bucegi mountains, on the west side, Piatra Mare mountain, on the east side, Postavarul peak on the north side. The peak is also a sharp barometer for its villagers, predicting rain when it?s clouded.
The Mountains
The neighborhood of mountains that go over 1500 m, (Postãvarul - 1800 m, Piatra Mare - 1843 m, Baiului - 1847 m, Bucegi, Omu peak - 2505 m), covered with pine woods, offers Predeal an alpine clime with soft winters and chill summers. Predeal has a large number of sunny days. The bioclimatic stimulates the metabolic processes with the help of the pure air, the solar radiations and the lack of strong winds or high humidity.
Accommodation Possibilities
The accommodation capacity of Predeal resort is over 1700 beds, in 1 to 3 stars hotels, over 2000 beds in villas and 1 to 4 stars pensions and over 300 beds in cabins. There are tennis grounds (Orizont Hotel, Piatra Craiului Hotel and Cabana Fulg de Nea cabin), bikes for rent, (Fulg de Nea cabin and Piatra Craiului hotel) and pools (Orizont hotel and Hera). There are also fully equipped conference rooms in many of the hotels.
Tourist's Leisure
Beside the beautiful trekking routes in the mountains (Bucegi, Piatra Mare and Postavarul) the tourist have the possibility of visiting other main attraction points around, such as Bran and Peles Castles, Fagaras, Prejmer, Rasnov fortresses, museums, the fortified churches of Codlea and Cristian and the monasteries in Predeal, Sambata de Sus or Sinaia.
