A new technology, able to intervene in fire situations on the hard-to-reach areas, was purchased for the firs time in Romania. The commune Moieciu hosted a demonstration organized by the Administrative Reform and Internal Department ? General Inspectorate for the Emergencies, in partnership with Polaris Industries INC. ? USA, the owner of the fire fighting ATV vehicle, model Polaris Firexpres.
Structural Funds? Source
The demonstration was attended by the mayor of Moieciu, representatives of the County Council and the local town halls, along with those of the Polaris Industries Company. CC counsellor Adrian Maxim revealed the intention to access structural funds to buy this kind of equipment, in partnership with the local authorities of Predeal, Bran, Moieciu, Fundata and Rasnov.
Donation of the US Embassy
According to Mihai Pascu, director within the CC Brasov, the vehicle produced under Polaris licence is able to reach rough grounds and is very performant in fighting fires. ?The County Council supports the town halls for this kind of applications. The UN and the USA Embassy in Bucharest donated the new technology implemented for the first time in Romania. The price of the ATV Fire-fighter reaches 36-38.000 euros?.
A very suitable Engine
Nicolae Clinciu, the mayor of Moieciu, showed its interest in buying such equipment. ?This new technology is very appropriate for our area, covered with boarding houses, with very rough and narrow access ways. The fire can burst in any place, at any moment. A classic vehicle cannot face the intervention problems, while the new engine looks very suitable fort his kind oh job? mayor Clinciu stated.
