The townhall of the town-resort Predeal, the county council and the Centre for the Promotion and Conservation of the Traditional Culture Brasov organised at the end of May ?Predeal?s Days?. This year, the event had a diversified program, meant to attract tourists of all ages and categories. Children weren?t neglected either; they had the possibility to attend various sporting contests and entertaining shows.
The Wanderer Magus
The event started with the launch of a book ? ?Eminescu, the wanderer Magus?, a SF comment of the author Ioan Campan, and an old photos varnishing, realized by Cristian Sima. The event was attended by prof. Didona Stanislav Eminescu, a descendant of the Eminescu family. The book is in fact a travel diary of a pilgrim looking for the poet Eminescu and discovering ?a fantastic, enciphered world?.
Predeal?s History in Pictures
The exhibits of Cristian Sima tried to recreate for the visitors the atmosphere of bygone days Predeal. Several photos depicted various buildings as they were looking in 1938. Other surprised details of a parade of the Iron Guard, a Nazi inspiration organisation of sad memory, acting in Bucharest during WW2. The exhibition presented in parallel images, landscapes and ordinary aspects of nowadays Predeal?s life.
Images Hunting
The event?s attraction was the contest ?Images Hunting?, organised on ATV, on the range Station Market ? Cioplea ? Polistoaca Pick ? Eroilor Street. The participants took splendid pictures using professional cameras; the images have been then selected and awarded by a jury. The hunters had the opportunity to admire the amazing splendour of the town-resort Predeal?s panorama.
Races and Diplomas
Children participated at various contests such as skating, bicycle races, chess and sporting dance contests. They got diploma and prizes.
The program also included folkloric shows, open air theatre, entertainment show, gastronomic presentation, the contest-show ?Miss Predeal? and a wonderful final fireworks performance.
