The Group Schaeffler - Ina Schaeffler Brasov SRL, along with the County Council Brasov, organized a humanitarian operation in the villages of Vistea commune, affected by the last year floods. The operation was supervised by Ina Schaeffles Brasov SRL General Manager Alexandru Blemovici, the president of the Budget-Finance Commission within the County Council Brasov Mihai Dontu, the executive manager of CC, Mihai Pascu and the coordinator within the CC, Andreea Malureanu.
Charitable appeal
Madame Maria Elisabeta Shaeffler personally attended the departure of the humanitarian convoy, after two priests had blessed the transport. Employees of Ina Schaeffler Brasov delivered the donations directly to the indigent families, which houses have been destroyed by the floods. ?Since the inauguration of the new facility in Brasov, The Group Schaeffler feels very connected to the people of Romania. After the last year devastating floods, the board of the Group decided to organize a humanitarian convoy. The employees of the plants in Germany and other collaborators immediately responded the charitable appeal" General Manager Blemovici stated.
Four Trucks with Goods
Several colleting and triage points have been organized in Germany, in order to prepare the transport for Romania The goods collected - hardware, clothes for men, women and children, blankets, sheets, toys, tools, bicycles, wheel chairs, hearing aids, glasses - were packed in over 4.000 boxes and charged by volunteers (pupils, monks, employees) in four big trucks. Tuesday, 28th of March, employees of Shaeffler plants from Germany and Romania, along with several members of the Red Cross Bavaria distributed the packages to the distressed habitants of Vistea commune.

Humanitarian Budget The destination of the humanitarian convoy was Brasov county. The bicycles arrived at a children camp in Moacsa; the rest of the packages have been distributed to 1.700 families. More than 2.000 bags have been given to the poor. The County Council's representatives, Mihai Pascu and Mihai Dontu, thanked Group Schaeffler for its contribution to solve the social problems that affect the indigent inhabitants of the county. Group Schaeffler have already organized 18 humanitarian operations; in 2006 the company assigned the first budget for this kind of actions.
