Located in the centre of the country, in the upper part of Țara Bârsei, by the foothills of Postăvaru Massif, short distance from Bucegi and Piatra Craiului Mountains and at the Northen end of Rucăr - Bran and Cheia – Predeal couloir, Râșnov city has been preserving the same historical flavour of a prosperous burg since ancestral times.
Râșnov is located at an average altitude of 676 m above the sea, where meridian 25°27´ Eastern longitude crosses parallel 45°35´ Northern latitude.
The „ROSE” of the national tourism
„We have the advantage that the city is located in the neighbourhood of a commercial myth, Dracula. We want to offer something different to our citizens and guests. A special story, where romantic legends, with knights and princesses are recreated in the medieval citadel. We wish the music of history to be heard from the churches of the city and we wish to combine history with the present moment. Inspired by the old symbol of our city Râșnov – Rosenau, we think of ourselves as the „ ROSE of the national tourism”. declared Liviu Călin Butnariu, the Mayor of Râșnov City.
Rose’n’Wine
The beginning of autumn brought wine perfume in Râșnov. During August 31st and September 1st, the city hosted the 4th edition of the Wine Festival. Tens of wineries brought the best wines in the City of Roses and the visitors tasted them in Piaţa Unirii. The vineyards were from both our country and the Republic of Moldavia.
Wine and artistic program
Many local artists and folk ensembles performed on the stage located in the city centre, next to the headliners Cargo, Timpuri Noi, Phoenix and Iris.
