Brasov has a new application for smartphone: Brasov Travel Guide. The application is part of the Sm@rtCult project, whose aim is to promote local values and symbols that are of national significance. The project is implemented by ‘Mă implic’ Association and it is funded from the Budget of Brasov Town Hall. By this application, tourists may discover a part of the built heritage of Brasov city, memorial places and national and universal personalities.
Exploring the historical area
The application is available on Google Play and IOS and allows the exploration of the historical area of Brasov city by three cultural tracks presented in Romanian and English. Other activities included in the Sm@rtCult Brasov project are the set up of an event dedicated to recovering and recognizing the Brasoveanca dance as part of the cultural heritage of Brasov area and organizing info trips addressed to tourist bloggers and tour operators.
In the context of the Centenary
‘In the context of the Centenary, one of the suggested tracks includes locations and monuments where events that had consequences on the plan for fighting for political and national rights of Romanians from Transylvania and Romanian Countries took place, such as the house of the trader Ion Nica, where the program of the revolution of Moldavia was drawn up or the place where the national anthem was written’, declared Mr. Alexandru Stănescu, initiator of the project.
Promoting the city
This project promotes the city as a multicultural entity and recommends a track dedicated to the national movement. The tourist has an application on his phone that facilitates access to reliable information on emblematic buildings of the city and everything related to the Romanian culture.
