"Golden Stag" Festival 2018

The show of the last evening of this year’s anniversary edition of the Golden Stag Festival introduced the public to a somewhat novel concept that brought folklore into modernity: highly popular folk music themes, in versions reinterpreted by special guests Grigore Leşe, Damian Drăghici and Alex Calancea Band, along with “Lăutarii” Band from Chisinau, directed by Nicolae Botgros. In the year dedicated to the Centennial of the Great Union, a musical demonstration took place on the stage located in Piața Sfatului, reminding us that Romanians are united in their love of folklore.
“Toţi K1 Pentru România”
The final part of the evening was dedicated to a musical project entitled: „Toţi K1 Pentru România”, featuring the following artists: Nicolae Furdui Iancu, Paula Seling, “Crai Nou” Instrumental Band from Alba Iulia, K1 Band, actors Vlad Rădescu, Mihaela Radescu, and Sorin Frâncu.
The actors and the performers have brought on the stage of the Festival the prominent personalities and the most significant historical events that marked the evolution of the union of the Romanians in a series of artistic moments.
Double anniversary
This year, which marks half a century since the first edition of the Golden Stag Festival, the following artists gave recitals on the stage of the Festival: Andra, Delia, Horia Brenciu, Loredana, The Motans, Carla's Dreams, Flavius and Linda Teodosiu Show Band, The Humans, James Blunt, Amy Macdonald, Gigliola Cinquetti, Eleni Foureira, Edvin Marton and the star of the Gala, Nicole Scherzinger.
Festival gala
The event took place between August 29 and September 2, 2018, on the stage located in Piaţa Sfatului, in the year of Romania’s Centennial, which also marks half a century since the first edition of the Golden Stag Festival. The Festival had a special format this year, with an anniversary gala, two days of contest, a Festival Gala, the show entitled “România Centenar”, and related events. The Golden Stag was broadcasted live and exclusively by the Romanian Television (TVR).
