In the Municipality of Codlea, the cultural agenda will include major events, such as: The Fanfare Festival, Days of Codlea ? Kronenfest and the Meeting of the Saxons from Codlea in Germany. Besides these events, the Town Hall and the Local Council of Codlea, together with the Cultural Municipal House of Codlea organize several cultural actions for promoting the cultural-historical heritage of the town, which also include the main touristic sites and attractions.
The Fanfare Festival
The 5th edition of the Fanfare Festival, organized from May 13th to May 14th 2017, started as a real holiday, with an exceptional repertory. The ?Romanian? Fanfare from Codlea performed at the opening, followed by ?Tara Barsei? Fanfare from Brasov, both of them being highly appreciated. The stage also hosted: ?Promedana? Fanfare from Campia Turzii, and the fanfares from Sighisoara, Tarnaveni, Ozun/Covasna, the one from Vulcan, accompanied by other famous fanfares from Brasov County and from all over the country. It was an amazing show, performed with a lot of dedication by valuable instrumentalists.
The Days of Codlea ? Kronenfest
?Days of Codlea? ? Kronenfest, the 17th edition took place in ?Maial?, at the feet of Magura Codlei. It is considered the biggest event of the year. The main focus: the traditional costume parade, accompanied by the fanfare, marching from the Historical Center to the ?Maial? location. The program is exceptional, diversified, with many folk ensembles, with singers and special guests, with the legends of Tara Barsei land, surprises, including ?the snail dance? and going up the flagpole, traditional German dances, famous singers in the country and well-known bands. This year, a delegation from Germany attended the Days of Codlea for a cultural exchange and considered the event as being ?the most beautiful cultural manifestation I have ever seen?.
The meeting of the Transylvanian Saxons from Codlea
At the beginning of August, the 5th edition of the Meeting of the Transylvanian Saxons from Codlea in Germany takes place, an emotional event, very touching for those who were born in these lands. The Association of the Transylvanian Saxons from Codlea will be welcoming them with an impressive program: the festive opening taking place at the Evangelical Church, a visit to the museum, inauguration of the statues at the German school, a cultural program at the Cultural House, with dances on the music of the Saxon fanfare, laying flower crowns at the Evangelical cemetery, dinner in Maial with fanfare music and the snail dance and an organ pipe concert performed by the organ player, Mr. Kalus Dieter Untch.
