"The days of Ghimbav City" were organized during July 1st-3rd 2016. The event attracted a large audience among which many tourists from the country and abroad. The reason: the exceptional cultural program, the air show and the parachuting demonstrations. Delia Matache, Voltaj band, Corina Chiriac, Marcel Pavel, Nico and Gabriel Dorobantu are among the most important artists who were invited there are. The logistics, the sound and the stage were provided by Coco Sound. Children enjoyed a specially arranged section for fun, and grilled food was served to the people. There were also popular craftsmen with their stands.
The "Romanian Hit" evening
The first day of the festival was called the "Romanian Hit" evening, starting with the bands "Vocelis" and "Royal". They were followed by recitals of Maria Morelli, Gabriel Dorobantu, Nico, Corina Chiriac and Marcel Pavel.
"The days of Ghimbav City are three days of culture, promotion of customs and traditions, different kind of music, and a good opportunity for promoting our city. The air show and the parachuting demonstrations were organized here because Romanian aviation centre is in Ghimbav. We are glad we can show the world our heritage and that we are an attraction on the map of Romanian tourism". declared Toma Dorel, the Mayor of Ghimbav City.
Dance-rock evening
The official opening of the festival was done with an air show and parachuting demonstrations. In the second day, local artists performed: "Alex Dance Studio", Ina Savutiu and Lavinia Bodriug recital, and the recitals of Deep Central, Anda Adam, Lora, Coco Band and Delia.
The fact that the Town Hall of Ghimbav invited important names of the Romanian music attracted a large audience. The evening ended with wonderful fireworks.
Pop-rock evening
The third day of the festival started with brass band music, and then the competitors were awarded prizes. For the audience who loves aviation there was an exceptional air show and parachute jumps by national, European and world champions.
Folk moments provided by "Doruletul" Group Ghimbav, "Dorelutul Junior" and those of the Gymnasium Ghimbav were also included in the program. They were followed by recitals provided by important names of the Romanian folklore: Gheorghe Turda, Nicoleta Voica. The days of Ghimbav City ended with pop-rock concerts by Paula Seling and "Voltaj".
