Bessarabia ? Pages from a tale

The Association for Development LINK, the Association of Students from Bessarabia and Bukovina from Brasov (OSBB), the Urban Art Depot, in partnership with the Town Hall of Brasov, the County Council Brasov and the Sustainable Development Association from Brasov, have once again organized the Festival "Bessarabia-Pages from a tale" celebrating the Unification of Bessarabia with Romania on March 27th 1918. Each year this project marks at Brasov the act of Unification of Bessarabia with Romania and intends to attract and get involved into its activities both the local community and the Bessarabia communities of Brasov and tourists.

A big round dance

The guest of honour, Mr Mihai Ghimbu, former President of the Republic of Moldavia, now a Member of Parliament, officially opened the event in the Council`s Square from Brasov Municipality. He and the Deputy Mayor of Brasov, Mr Adrian Atomei, made a round dance with people of all ages from Brasov and Bessarabia whether they were university, high school students, retired or kindergarten children. The people from Bessarabia said that they felt at home in Brasov and everywhere in Romania they feel like they belong to the same Romanian people.

Exhibition of tales

The varnishing of the exhibition "Bessarabia, through the eyes of the Romanian and Moldavian youth" was also organized in the Council`s Square. 28 photos depicting landscapes and humans from the Republic of Moldavia have been displayed for the public for five days. The images were also accompanied by their stories that stood behind these photos. The Festival "Bessarabia ? Pages from a tale" has come to its 6th edition and its purpose is to continue developing the tight relationship between the Romanians from our country and those from the other side of Prut river.

The event agenda also includes:
- Laser light show (Conexiuni) in the Council`s Square;
- Poems and food from Bessarabia at Bistro del Arte - Tasting culinary exhibition by the students from Bessarabia;
