The 18th Edition of the Days of Sanpetru,

The Town Hall of Sanpetru and the Local Council have organized the 18th Edition of the "Days of Sanpetru" from June 29th -30th 2013, which is celebrated each year on the occasion of Saints Peter and Paul. This event offers a good opportunity to promote customs and traditions, as well as the main local tourist attractions. The organizers bring to the audience`s attention folk singers, groups of Romanian and German folk dances and young talented people from the region. The "Days of Sanpetru", organized in a picturesque and friendly setting, is a good occasion for all the people from the community to relax, as much as the tourists who come especially to attend this event.
Preserving the traditions
"We have had several projects undergoing intended to promote the tourist potential of Sanpetru, but the most traditional of them all, which means a lot for us, is the Days of Sanpetru, who has now reached its 18th edition. As the people of Sanpetru have always known how to preserve their old traditions and customs connected to the most significant moments in the life of our community, we have decided to support the promotion of cultural tradition in such a way as to remain alive in the heart of the future generations and to always keep Sanpetru commune an attractive place for tourists. For many years the communication between the Town Hall and the citizens has contributed to maintaining the spirit of continuation of the cultural values and the architectural heritage of the commune. A small part of its cultural legacy can be admired at the Days of Sanpetru," said Mr. Ion Rusu, Mayor of Sanpetru.
Interest in traditions
Seeing the growing interest of the public in knowing more about genuine customs and traditions, the organizers wanted very much to offer to the audience the show of "Junii Satului" (the village`s young men) accompanied by brass band music and a varied repertoire performed on stage by famous folk groups from the county. At the same time much accent has been put on the promotion of the spring traditions celebrated by the Romanian people and the Transylvanian Saxon ethnic group. Sports races have been organized for young people, sky paper lanterns have been launched into the air and "Melodic" musical group gave an exceptional performance. The first day ended with a fireworks show.

The agenda of the 18th Edition of the Days of Sanpetru also included: German dance group of Codlea ? "Zeidner Tan2 Gruppe"; folk dance group "Ruscuta de Primavara" from the Middle School of Sanpetru; folk group "Cerbul Carpatin"; folk music performed by "Favorit Grup"; the "Plaiurile Transilvaniei" orchestra and the group of singers "Tara Barsei"; folk music singer Elisabeta Turcu; folk dances by "Junii Brasovului"; ethnic music by Claudia Miritescu and air show by Romania`s Aeroclub.
