Drabobete is the St. Valentine in the Romanian tradition. Late February, Predeal town-resort organized a feast called „Drabobete kisses the girls!”, celebrated every year on February 24. The town hall Predeal offered the event on the ice rink inaugurated this winter, to all resort’s tourists in love.
Love Caravan
All tourists had the opportunity to participate in the Love Caravan, which included a lot of contests. As the mayor of the town-resort, Ionel Goidescu, stated, in order to offer the tourist unforgettable moments, the town hall organized several crazy contests such as „How to extinguish your sweetheart’s fireĂ”, „The best dancers on ice”, „Catch, recognize and kiss your date”, „Love statements on coloured balloons”.
Love at all Ages
All kind of lovers took part of the contest: from the youngest to the elders, all excited by their feelings. The dance contest and the love statement on heart-shaped balloons delighted the spectators. Regardless of age, competitors have managed to highlight the symbol of love and create excitement. The atmosphere was full of tenderness. The diplomas were offered by „Dragobita”, the Dragobete's mate, dressed in a traditional sheepskin. Dragobete and Dragobita are together the symbol of love.
