Brasov County Council, the County Centre for Conservation and Promotion of Traditional Culture Brasov along with Meteor 2008 Association, the Evangelical Church Maierus and the Forest range Maierus, held in the first week of July the "Forest?s Feast", which took place in Padurea Bogatii, at the Foresters? Chalet.
Sylvan Feast
The ceremony began with the holy liturgy, officiated by the evangelical priests, followed by Sanpetru brass band concert and a sylvan feast with traditional German music and dances. The German Forum of Prejmer set up a display of traditional objects and an exhibition dedicated to "Yesterday-today-and tomorrow Prejmer".
During the entire day, children made various drawings about the forest protection within the Foresters mini-club. Although only German communities take usually part at this feast, this year the organizers addressed the invitation to all the nature lovers.
Forest Consecration
The feast, held the first Sunday of July, is the evangelical parishioners manifestation, meant to consecrate the forest. In Valea Bogatii there are a plateau and a cross, where the priest officiates the religious service in order to consecrate the holy source of life, which means the forest. On this occasion, the German ethnics make a wonderful display of their traditional clothes, dance and German music, showing a remarkable wish to maintain their traditions and promote the multiculturalism in the area.
