A catalogue in colours dedicated to the exhibition ‘A century of Art in Brasov. 1815-1918’ was launched in Brasov Art Museum. This event attracted many art and history lovers. The catalogue of the exhibition ‘A century of Art in Brasov. 1815-1918’ is the result of researches regarding the plastic art and photography in Brasov during this period, also providing a rich visual support. The studies included in the catalogue by Radu Popica and Camelia Neagoe present the evolution of the plastic and photographical art in Brasov, during the period between the Congress in Vienna (1815) and the Great Union (1918).
Important personalities
The important personalities of the art in the City of Brasov of that time were updated by the catalogue of the exhibition: Misu Popp, Constantin Lecca, Wilhelm Kramner and Friedrich Miess. Samuel Herter, Leopold Adler and Carl Muschalek single out in the photo. The catalogue has 100 pages, costs RON 38 and may be bought from the Art Museum in the centre of Brasov.

‘The catalogue of the exhibition ‘A century of art in Brasov. 1815-1918’ was published two weeks after the varnishing of the exhibition with the same name. The public is interested in this catalogue, it is well done and, besides photos, it also includes two extremely important articles for the specialists in this field, dedicated to photo and plastic art in that period. The evolution of the art in Brasov
The exhibition presents the evolution of the art, but also the photography in Brasov, in the 19th century and in the beginning of the 20th century, a transition period towards modernity. In the exhibition there are 53 painting, graphics and sculpture works selected from the collection of Brasov Art Museum, but also from several art museums in the country next to particular collections belonging to 18 artists from Brasov.
