"Brasov, a city of tales"

"Brasov, a city of tales" is the sequel of a project marking the winter holidays. Both for people from Brasov and for tourists, the City Hall prepared this year a lot of new things, enjoyed by children and by the entire audience.
The event takes place from December 6th, 2017 to January 14th 2018 when the entire city is festively illuminated, and throughout the winter holidays the Old Centre of the town will have streets with enlighten ceilings, as follows: Republicii Street, a part of Michael Weiss Street, lights which will guide us from the Council Square to the alleyway up to Enescu Square to Michael Weiss Street and from Michael Weiss Street to Sf. Ioan Street. The sector of Hirscher Street will be illuminated, from the Council Square to Poarta Schei.

Skating rink in the Old Centre of the town

The municipality announced that the surprise is the skating rink in Sf. Ioan Square, measuring a surface area of 300 sq. m, opened mainly for children and young people aging from 1 to 17 years. The access is free for skating lovers and it will be open throughout the children holiday. Also in this area we will have a city of tales, where Santa?s shops will be located. This year, the theme of artisan and illuminated decorations will be gingerbread elements, which we will see everywhere in the historical centre, light elements on pillars and other elements placed on the pedestrian area.

Artistic events

The official opening of the winter holidays shall be on December 6th when the Christmas tree will be turned on and the entire festive illuminating equipment will be switched on. In the Council Square will take place several artistic events where Romanian and foreign bands will participate.
Christmas trees will be in the Council Square, Sf. Ioan Square, Unirii Square and in Poiana Brasov, where a natural tree will be decorated, aging more than 6 years. The three trees in Brasov will be provided by the Kronstadt Forest Agency.
