Juni from Cristian, established in a cultural organization, promote the customs and traditions of the locality, and also traditional dances from various parts of the country. Most of the children were chosen from poor families, but who proved to be great folklore lovers. And so, the Juni of Cristian were founded, trained by the former bailiff of the ?Zoritorii Cristianului? boys? band. Today, they are invited to perform at different cultural events within the county and all over the country, standing out by their multi-cultural authentic repertory.
S.O.S. traditional costume
Asked how he made it, Mr Lucian Forfotă told us: ?It was difficult at first, like every beginning. The traditional costumes are deteriorated and we want to replace them. We don?t refuse any event. Children are eager to be known. We have looked for sponsors for the poor ones, in order to provide clothes, shoes and food for them. We placed an offer, since we need money to participate in as many cultural activities as possible. That is why we appeal to promotion, by means of mass media, and place our offer to those who want to receive our services. The money we get will be used to purchase and maintain traditional costumes and to support the poor?.
Juni of Cristian offer
The Cultural Association ? Juni of Cristian Folklore Group ? mainly aims at: preserving traditions, promoting, discovering and developing folklore, with and by talented children and young people. The repertory is made of Romanian and Transylvanian Saxons traditional songs and dances, represented by children and young dancers, instrumental performers and singers. The repertory can consist of various themes. A show lasts at least 30 minutes. Artists will be wearing ancient traditional clothing at all the events.
Performance
The counter value of an event varies depending on the duration of the show, the travelling distance, type/theme of the repertory. The Juni of Cristian Folklore Group issues fiscal receipts after every artistic performance.
