Jerusalem Day



     

     

At "Beit Israel" synagogue from Brasov, 29 Poarta Schei Street, was celebrated, for two days, from May 16th to 17th 2015, the "Jerusalem Day", event to which participated important names in the field of culture, cults and public life from Brasov, Bucharest and other cities in the country and in Israel. On this occasion it was also organized a symposium, to which servants of different cults took part, a klezmer music concert was performed, sending a message of friendship to the people from Jerusalem by means of the songs played by the children from Brasov.

Short description

"On May 14th 1948 in Tel Aviv, the president of the Jewish Agency proclaimed the formation of Israel, thus appearing the first Jewish state, after 2000 years. Within a ceremony held at the Art Museum from Tel Aviv, Ben-Gurion stated: ?We hereby announce the formation of a Jewish state in Palestine, to be called Israel?, and the Jerusalem Day is celebrated on the occasion of achieving the union of the Eastern Jerusalem with the Western Jerusalem in June 1967", reminded on this occasion Mr. Roth Tiberiu, the President of the Jewish Community from Brasov.

6:40 P.M. - JERUSALEM. The capital of Great Religions! The capital of Worldwide PeaceĂ;
8:00 P.M. ? Church service dedicated to the celebration;
- United Jerusalem, a tumultuous history;
9:00 P.M. ? Snack and drinks break;
- Havdala - separation from the Sabbath;
- Klezmer music concert by "Mazel Tov" band from Cluj, orchestrated by the Professor Vasile Socea;

Sunday, May 17th

10:00 A.M. ? Jerusalem, a conflict source or a hope for peace in the Middle EastĂ A talk-show between former Ambassadors of Romania to Tel-Aviv;
11:00 A.M. ? Violin and piano concert of Bach, Beethoven, Debussy and Bloch plays.
- Daniel Schor from Bucharest playing the violin and Cristina Popescu Stanesti from Bucharest playing the piano;
12:00 P.M. ? Music and party with mici (highly seasoned forcemeat balls), beer and other barbeque dishes. The people from Brasov are singing!!!;
3:00 P.M. ? Conclusions and Farewell.
